Neck Lift
Neck lift is the aesthetic surgical procedure that corrects the laxity-ptosis in the neck.
With this operation Plastic Surgeon repairs the neck tissues, replacing the skin, subcutaneous tissue and the superficial musculoaponeurotic system – SMAS (platysma lift), in their normal position. Excess skin is removed, ptosis is corrected and wrinkles are smoothed.
The neck lift, when needed, is combined with face lifting and/or blepharoplasty for a complete facial renewal.
In the case of fat accumulation in the neck (double chin) with good skin elasticity, the treatment is performed with liposuction.
Skin pigmentations, photoaging and skin lesions that are already present on the skin of the neck, are not corrected with the neck lifting. These problems are addressed with a combination of dermabrasion, injectable hyaluronic acid, botox, fractional laser and heterologous or autologous PRP mesotherapy.
The majority of patients undergoing neck lifting are aged 50 to 65 years old. However, surgery can also be performed safely in the elderly.
The procedure is done under local or general anesthesia and lasts about 2 hours. The incision is placed around the earlobe and the back of the ear. After surgery, mild edema and bruising are absorbed in the following days. Also, the numbness in the throat is expected, but it is subdued in the following period. The return to work is done after about 1 week. The first results of surgery are visible early on, but are fully demonstrated in the first trimester.
Neck lift is an operation that, when performed by a qualified Plastic Surgeon, has excellent results.
It is the best choice for dealing with great neck loosening. The results are unique and last for 10 to 15 years, and then the neck continues to look younger than the actual age.
